We recently completed this striking bespoke home library wall in Bromley, tailored to the client’s exact requirements and built entirely from scratch. The focal point is a sliding solid Iroko ladder, running the full width of the cabinetry on a brass rail, offering easy access to the higher shelving while creating a classic, heritage-inspired look.

We always prioritise locally sourced timber for sustainability and quality. In this case, we selected Iroko, a premium hardwood sourced from sustainable suppliers, chosen for its strength, durability, and richly textured appearance. Its exotic tone pairs beautifully with the deep green painted finish, applied using Farrow & Ball ‘Beverly’ for a timeless, luxurious look.
The cabinetry is completed with solid brass fittings and integrated warm lighting for both functionality and atmosphere.
Matching Alcove Joinery Around Existing Fireplace
On the opposite wall, we worked around an original cast iron fireplace to create a complementary set of alcove cabinets and open shelving. Full wall panelling was added across the chimney breast using the same style and paint finish, bringing the entire room into cohesion while highlighting the character of the fireplace.
