This project in Sidcup involved designing and building a bespoke window seat for a large bay window, the kind of space where off-the-shelf furniture simply doesn’t work.
The angles and proportions of the bay made it tricky for the client to find anything that would fit properly or make full use of the area. A custom-built solution was the obvious answer, and we created a made-to-measure window seat that not only fits the space perfectly but also adds valuable storage.
Built from high-grade MDF, the seat includes a combination of push-to-open drawers along the front and a blanket-box style lift-up lid on top with hydraulic struts for safety. The front panels were carefully routed to give a clean, modern look that feels in keeping with the room’s aesthetic. Once fitted, the whole piece was painted to match the existing living room decor, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the space.

It’s a practical, well-finished feature that brings comfort, storage, and a made-for-the-space feel to an otherwise awkward area.
