For this project in Tonbridge, our client wanted far more than somewhere to position the television. They needed a feature piece that would provide generous storage, attractive display shelving and a clean, timeless appearance that would complement the room for years to come.
Built entirely to suit the available space, this bespoke media wall combines traditional shaker-style cabinetry with open shelving, creating the perfect balance between practical storage and decorative display. The entire installation was professionally finished in Farrow & Ball Blackened, giving the furniture a soft contemporary look that works beautifully with both modern and traditional interiors.
Designed around today and tomorrow
One of the standout features of this installation is the stepped cabinet design surrounding the television recess. While it creates a balanced, built-in appearance today, it has also been designed with the future in mind. The recessed section can comfortably accommodate a significantly larger television in years to come without the need to replace the surrounding cabinetry.
Below the television, a run of spacious cupboards provides ample concealed storage for media equipment, games, books and everyday household items, helping to keep the room organised and clutter free. The open shelving either side creates the perfect place to display books, plants and decorative accessories, turning the media wall into a true focal point rather than simply somewhere to mount a television.
